Willie Mason could be about to cut short his stay in the UK Super League and switch codes with cashed-up French rugby union club Toulon believed to be interested in signing the former NRL star.
French media reports claim Mason visited Toulon last week with his London-based manager Greg Keenan and was spotted having coffee with wealthy Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal.
The 31-year-old Mason is just six weeks into a two-year contract with Super League side Hull Kingston Rovers.
England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson is already playing for Toulon and he will be joined next season by Springboks forward Bakkies Botha and Wallabies utility back Matt Giteau.
